* Until our hearts are completely purified by God in heaven, we must set strong guards at the gates of our mouths and fight daily battles to restrain the overflow of our sinful desires. I have never before read such helpful insights and practical tools for this battle. I enthusiastically recommend War of Words. - Ken Sande, founder and president of Peacemaker Ministries
* I was really amazed at Paul's honesty. Also, his Scripture references and illustrations were excellent. He was direct and did not stroke us. He laid out the problem, then he gave us directions to gain victory. - Lesley
* This conference gave me a view that I never considered, but tools to help me begin to deal with my war of words. - Diane
* Most helpful to me was the realization of the fact that the battle for my kingdom is so ingrained in my life. - Philip
* This conference helped me examine the condition of my heart and the selfishness or idols that drive my life. It helped reveal scripture often washed over and not taken to heart. I confessed the condition of my heart to God and asked for his help. - Richard
* These concepts were helpful - holy discontent, honesty, and heart issues. Thank you Paul for being transparent - I completely relate). Your illustrations that remind me to be kind and gracious with my wife, kids, parents, and friends - and where to find that grace (not in me!) - Brian
* Everything was helpful - I look forward to reading the book. - Lori
* I thought "everything" was helpful, but idol words and giving examples were so great! James 4:1 - core principle - desire for even a good thing becomes a bad thing when that desire becomes a ruling thing. I need rescue from my kingdom to use my gift of words to serve my Lord and Savior's kingdom! Praise be to God for His grace and mercy (2 Cor 5:15). - Gary
* All of the teaching at the conference was helpful, especially the call to confront (speak truth) lovingly, and to be humbly approachable, the reminder that our sinful speech comes from our idolatry, that the sin I see exhibited toward me is an opportunity to ministry and rescue, and that where I get most irritated, upset, or afraid highlights my idols. I appreciated the reminder that I am called to be an ambassador. - Dianne
* This conference was a confirmation that the problem is me - and that I have a Savior who loves me and gives me help. - William
* Most helpful was the instruction from God's Word - that our words are not our possession - that all our words are for His kingdom, not ours. Paul Tripp was honest and vulnerable - I could really identify with the examples he gave. - Rosemarie
* How Paul boiled our communication problems down to their true source was really helpful - and once he did it - it seemed so obvious. - Garry
* Most helpful to me was Paul's presentations of the truth of the transforming power of God's Word. - Beth
* I loved Paul's practical ideas such as: - what to think/remember before I speak - words are used for God's glory - analyze whose kingdom I'm living/speaking for, - Dan
* This conference was a gracious blending of mercy and truth. - Kristina
* Many things were helpful, but probably the most helpful was the call for self examination. - John
* Most helpful to me was the application of idolatry to our daily words. - Robert

* Important points that struck to my heart - the impact of words on the direction of ones life (those heard and those said) and that words have a harvest - what kind of harvest? Thank you. - Marcia
